Another summer is coming to an end :( how sad
Summer is so much fun in New York and the beach is one of my favorite parts about it.
The beach is the happiest most calming place on earth. The last two weekends my friend Amy and I have taken beach trips to Long Beach in Long, Island. We meet up at Penn Station on Saturdays and catch the LIR. The LIR is so much better than taking the subway to Rockaway beach. The LIR is scenic and comfortable, not to mention Long Beach is really beautiful.
The first weekend Amy and I went, it was a rainy day but we had been planning to go to the beach all week! Amy called me early Saturday morning and she was like I think we should still go, and she is telling me this while it was thundering and lighting outside. I was like "are you crazy?!" I fell back asleep for a couple more hours and then when I woke back up and the skies had clear a little, I called her back and was like "let's do it!" "it will be an adventure!" And it was! Going to the beach on a rainy Saturday afternoon was a total adventure. There was no one there, we had the beach all to ourselves. We swam in the ocean, drank sangria and had heart to heart life chats.
This last weekend we wanted to go back to the same beach! But this time it was sunny as ever and our two other friends Jenna and Steph came along. We had to pay homage to these dwindling summer weekends by spending what little time we have left at the beach. Hopefully we can squeeze in one more beach trip next weekend!!
