Roma Bellissima Città

Day 1 and 2 were spent touring the city of Rome.
We went to the Colosseum, Vatican and Trevi Fountain.
Oh and ate so much gelato and pasta, of course!

This Gelato was "next level gelato"
I was like..."I will have a scoop of Nutella and Strawberry please" and the lady at the counter goes, "would you like a little whips cream with that?"
And this master piece is what she came back with (lol)

Ice cream cone fail.
I don't know how you eat an ice cream come of that size...but whip cream was dripping non-stop.

Day 1 of the trip was something else.....aside from how awesome all of the pictures look it has been a hectic couple of days. Traveling is so stressful. It is fun, but soooo stressful. The week before any trip, I am a crazy person running around like a chicken with my head cut off. It's stressful trying to wrap up everything at work, plus making sure all your ducks are lined in a row as far as travel logistics. There is always a lot to think about, and I am not sure I am a very good traveler. I owe all the kudos to my parents who handle just about EVERYTHING.

Well....traveling went really smoothly up until the first day of the trip. We all got the airport on time, our fly was only slightly delayed and most importantly we all made it to Rome safely. Let's just say things were looking good. Until... Saturday morning at breakfast. I left my purse on my chair at the hotel restaurant while I went to go get my food and when I got back GONE. My wallet, my passport, ID and whatever else was in that damn bag... GONE. Loosing your passport is the absolute worse thing that can happen while you are in a foreign country and it has been a bit of a nightmare. I knew Rome had a theft problem, but I did not realize that your things weren't even safe in your hotel!!!!!

Anyways....I am without money, without any form of identification....and no cell service so I am really hoping that I never get separated from my family. The last two days we have been calling the US consulate, trying to get through to figure out how to replace my passport. But, since it is the weekend...not a lot of luck. Currently it's Sunday night and my mom and I made a little detour to Florence, Italy. It is one of the few consulates in Italy that offers same day passport renewal. We are hoping that I am able to get a passport tomorrow, or I really don't know what I am going to do....stress, stress, stress. Aren't you suppose to go away on vacation to forget about that?

I have been doing the head slap for the last two days....keeping my fingers crossed....
